‘I Did What Was Necessary’ Harry Reid Caught Lying About Tax Returns, Now He’s In Trouble

Harry Reid just proved what a manipulative lying politician he really is. In 2012 when Mitt Romney ran for president he claimed, without evidence, that Mitt Romney hadn’t paid taxes in 10 years. This always seems to be a Democratic talking-point.

“As we know, he has refused to release his tax returns. If a person coming before this body wanted to be a Cabinet officer, he couldn’t be if he had the same refusal Mitt Romney does about tax returns. So the word is out that he has not paid any taxes for 10 years. Let him prove he has paid taxes, because he has not,” Reid said.

However, he failed to produce proof and even fact-checkers were willing to call him out on it. Recently Harry Reid was called out on for starting ‘fake news’ back in 2012.

The caller asked it “the brazen lie he told about Mitt Romney not pay his taxes has in anyway contributed to the fake news debate that we now find ourselves in.”

“First of all, there were no brazen lies. What I said is the truth. There’s no brazen lies,” said Harry Reid. But then he revealed what he really meant a few moments later when he added, “I did what was necessary.” Should he be able to get away with spreading this false information?
