A few days ago, George W. Bush decided to extend an olive branch after his family’s long feud with President-Elect Donald Trump by agreeing to attend his inauguration on January 20. His brother Jeb Bush, however, apparently isn’t ready to let bygones be bygones yet…
Conservative Tribune reported that Jeb announced this week that he won’t be attending the inauguration, showing that he’s still not over his loss to Trump in the primaries.
“The former governor will not attend the inauguration (of President-elect Donald Trump),” the Tampa Bay Times reported on Wednesday.
Frankly, this is despicable. Regardless of how he personally feels about Trump, Jeb should show up to his inauguration to show his support for both his party and this transition. Even the Clintons have announced that they will attend the inauguration, and everyone knows they can’t stand Trump.
Meanwhile, George W. and Laura Bush showed how classy they are once again by releasing a statement saying they will attend the January 20 event.
“They are pleased to be able to witness the peaceful transfer of power – a hallmark of American democracy – and swearing-in of President Trump and Vice President Pence,” Ford said.
Hey, Jeb, why don’t you follow your big brother’s example, and take the high road for once!
